Results vs Goals

For years I participated in programs that started with this question. – “what results will you have from this seminar?” or a very similar question. And the seminar itself was only peripherally connected to your answer.

The seminars were wonderful. Great things happened in my life. But for many people, most of what we put down on that initial list could be copied, from seminar to seminar. Why?

The Law of Attraction says that focusing on what you want should/will/ or may bring that to you. Why all three? Because often focusing on what you want also brings up that you don’t have it –

But goals require action. Yes, some of the boomerang effects can still occur – striving self-thwarts. But action trumps wanting, trumps affirming, trumps visualizing. Action can bring daily satisfaction, feeling a victory – even a small one - instead of wanting – or needing - a victory. This is one reason that goals should have mighty leaps, conceived of in small steps.

Useful Quotations

The most important key to achieving great success is to decide upon your goal and launch, get started, take action, move.
Brian Tracy

I f you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes.
Andrew Carnegie

A goal properly set is halfway reached.
Abraham Lincoln

No matter how carefully you plan your goals they will never be more than pipe dreams unless you pursue them with gusto.
W. Clement Stone

Goals. There's not telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There's no telling what you can do when you believe in them. There's no telling what will happen when you act upon them.

Inspiration

I have been inspired
By the warm winds that
Wake up a quiet winter’s day
And the soft rain
Falling on my parched forehead
As I trudge along the long road home
But poetry comes only when I write,
Not when my heart races
Only when my fingers follow my mind
This is a sad fact
My dreams remain my dreams;
Until I act
