New First Things

Here we are again – Another year – Exciting, unexpected …Same old Same old? Come on – We’ll be inundated with ads for the primaries, the presidential election, the coat-tail elections, the Olympics,…

What will you do this year that will distinguish it for you? My daughter, Ariel, is giving birth, so that’s one thing for me – but it’s not - it doesn’t answer my question – though it answers it for her.

I guess it’s another way of asking you about your 2008 goals. Goals can change your direction, starting a whole different path; they can speed you on a direction you’re already on and they can stop one (we sometimes forget they are our goals, so we can shift in the middle, though paying any costs we’ve accumulated.)

My point is that this is a great time to do this. There’s nothing magical about New Years – except we can make it so. So in the words of Captain Kirk, “Make it so.”

Please give me some feedback. I am scheduling a new 21 Awesome Results telesminar series and I would like your feedback on days and times that work. Thank you.

Not coincidentally, this is the time when I start my fourth consecutive seminar – perfect for now. It’s based on Jack Canfield’s very successful book The Success Principles. Feedback has been outstanding and, as far as I can tell, it provides both experienced ‘coachees’ and novices just what they want – creating or refining your goals, making them very real and clearing your path to their achievement. It’s free and unlike most coach’s one free session, this is a 6-session free seminar. By the middle of February you can tell whether coaching will make a difference for you, particularly my coaching… from Monday, January 7 from 7:30 Eastern to 8:30 and continuing January 14, 21, 28, February 4 and 11. Useful Quotations

The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.
Napoleon Hill

No one lives long enough to learn everything they need to learn starting from scratch. To be successful, we absolutely, positively have to find people who have already paid the price to learn the things that we need to learn to achieve our goals.
Brian Tracy

Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another.
Fyodor Dostoevski

When I learn something new-and it happens every day-I feel a little more at home in this universe, a little more comfortable in the nest.
Bill Moyers

This is a winter morning
The day before Christmas
And I have to decide whether
Or not
To wear a winter coat
Can it be I want the cold,
The snow whipped morning,
The sense of hibernation,
Of cars not starting.
Of tires whirring on the ice
I only want it ‘cause it’s gone

Well, not today
But when I wrote it
Not today
But soon again, I fear
And so again I set my
Goal –
No, not a goal,
my intention though is clear
For Winter followed by Spring
And Summer then Fall
will return
Each year
