I Looked in the Mirror
I’m not vain – After all, it is something I do every day, but there’s a difference between looking in the mirror and shaving & combing my hair… It was like sticker shock! I know my hair has grayed, but unexpectedly I saw my age showing in my neck and face and some in my facial structure. Still, I was mostly pleased – I admit.
But I kept looking, asking, “who am I looking at?” Last night in my Mastermind group, we decided to share our purpose with each other, so I asked, “what am I up to; how much is looking good and how much am I really up to?” Seems to me a worthwhile exercise. (I recommend it.)
Well – I put my mission/purpose at the end of almost everything I write: To Inspire and empower us to live fulfilled lives in harmony with Earth. Sounds great – Is that my purpose? Really?
I do do that by being a coach and by writing. And a lot of the time I simply don’t, but I’m not going to blame myself for it, just notice. Noticing is important; it seeps in.
I study a lot about how to reach and touch more people (you can help by passing this along) It’s an interesting time allocation – doing it trading off with studying how to do it better.
You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul
George Bernard Shaw
That's the problem with religion: you beat your way past the clerics, fight your way through the demons, stand before the holy of holies, and when you rip away the veil, there's nothing there but a mirror
Our environment, the world in which we live and work, is a mirror of our attitudes and expectations.
Who Do I See
It is Halloween
The trees are nearly stripped
Only brown and yellow orange leaves
Trembling on the lifeless limbs
And lying on the concrete ground
sometimes lifting and spiraling
And I am costumed cold
An old sheet, very old so cut out eyes
Would be okay
And make me a ragged ghost
Shivering from door to door,
Easier to do in chilly
city apartment houses
Going only here to there,
Not going anywhere at all,
Simply gathering candy
Oh so long
